Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #23
In this issue, all secrets of Flash Thomspon's Venom symbiote are revealed, as he takes his full place as a truly cosmic-level character. It seems to me that they are prepping Venom to be a more permanent member of this team. While I like the exploration of the character, there is way too much revealed here. I liked the mystery surrounding the symbiote and I'm sorry to see some of that go. And the storytelling here was a little didactic. Still, there was a lot of good dialogue, and some funny moments, enough to elevate the overall story.

DC's TEEN TITANS #6
While I enjoy the storytelling here in the overall, some of the dialogue here gets didactic. The 'voice' of the character comes off more as the voice of the writer. It is like the writer is sitting you down and telling you what decision they are making about the direction of the book, rather than the sense that the character is actually speaking within the context of the story. I am really enjoying this book, though. And the overall thrust of the storytelling is solid.

DC's GREEN LANTERN: THE NEW GUARDIANS #38
Kyle and Carol explore the full meaning of their relationship as a new threat from the Source Wall arises. There are some amazingly explosive scenes here and I really enjoyed the art in the overall. The storytelling isn't terribly original, but it is very character-driven and tightly focused. I enjoyed the issue, and I may start collecting the book again.

Marvel's AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #13 (SPIDER-VERSE #5)
There are moments of triumph and tragedy as the final push against the Inheritors begins. The Benjamin Parker Spider-Man is explored in more detail and takes his place at the center of the storytelling. I loved this book, and it is the best of the SPIDER-VERSE comics that came out this week. The storytelling is getting frenetic in these issues, but that is to be expected given the nature of the storyline.

Marvel's SCARLET SPIDERS #3
The three Spider-Clones from various universes face down one of the weakest inheritors and only barely manage to defeat him, at the cost of a very heroic version of Ben Reilly. The strategic value of the victory was significant, however. The drama in this issue sometimes spills into melodrama, and the whole issue feels rushed or even artificial somehow. But there were some genuinely emotional moments, and I liked (but did not love) this issue.

Marvel's SPIDER-VERSE TEAM-UP #3
While we got to see some cool new Spiders and explore some of the cooler ones we've already met, the storyline itself here made little sense. None of the characters' motivations are all that clear, and I thought the turning of one of the Inheritors' own against them just did not work. I am glad they tried to develop the Ben Parker Spider-Man's character more, but it wasn't done all that effectively. This was the weakest of the SPIDER-VERSE stories this week.

DC's JUSTICE LEAGUE #38
Batman finally gets superpowers...that then turn on him to kill him. Yes, Bats has been infected by the Amazo virus, and we learn the real reason why Luthor developed it in the first place. I loved this issue, especially the way Captain Cold was featured. But I am sick and tired of getting 0 Shazam. The art in this book was absolutely amazing, and it adds so well to the tone of the overall story. I loved this book. Loved it!
