Robin Williams & WHAT DREAMS MAY COME

Robin Williams' death really hit me harder than celebrity deaths normally do. The only one I can remember being as hard to hear about what Phillip Seymour Hoffman's last year (which I indirectly commented on here: http://ljtsg.blogspot.com/2014/02/does-addict-have-free-will.html) These two guys were two of my favorite actors, and additionally they both struggled very publicly with things I also struggle with (drug addiction and depression). I will not comment in detail now on the issue of suicide, though I may do so in coming months. I was struck by this article, which I for one thought was very apt:

I love that film and commented briefly on it here: http://ljtsg.blogspot.com/2013/09/what-god-does-for-us.html

All I want to say here is that Williams' death affected me, and I can think of no better way to honor the man than watching that film. I think it says more about what happened to him and about the matter of his redemption than most of garbage flying around on the internet. In fact, to honor the man and to reflect on everything, I'm going to be writing a Bible study on the film, something I've wanted to do for quite a long time now.
