Attachment

Christianity is very different from Buddhism in some ways. Buddhism preaches detachment, Christianity preaches love and trust. Intense love for the people of this world, and for Yahweh, Life-As-God, and trust in Yahweh's ability to overcome all the vicissitudes that threaten life. Some seem to be able to make peace with death, I never will. I love life, love people so much that the thought of their absolute end affronts my mind, heart and soul at every conceivable level. I need something Deeper to lean on, and something to genuinely hope in. To love the world so much that the destruction of any part of it should destroy you, but to be able to trust that yet you will not be destroyed: that, my friends, is faith.
