DC's EARTH 2 #23
Well this book continues to just blow my mind. In this issue we really see how crazy Darkseid has driven Superman, as his encounter with the resurrected Lois Lane (The New RED TORNADO) causes him to have some kind of break. Alan Scott returns to glorious effect, and I love the way he's being portrayed here. The ending isn't too surprising but still jarring. On every level this book is a must-read, though you really couldn't start with this issue.

Marvel's NEW WARRIORS #4
Well this book's first story arc went very well indeed. There is plenty of mystery here that ties into the way in which the entire Marvel universe has gone the way of MARVEL UNIVERSE X, which came out a few years ago. The storytelling was tight, the art is good, and the dialogue really works. The High Evolutionary has long been one of my favorite characters and he played a great role here as the villain. The only bad thing about this issue is it felt rushed. They should've stretched out just a wee bit more.

Marvel's DEADPOOL VS CARNAGE #3
This book is hilarious and exciting. Deadpool is really the star for my money, and his dialogue is just off the hook. Deadpool is constantly trying to convince Carnage that the world they live in follows a very set order, something that violates Carnage's worship of chaos. That Carnage starts to consider Deadpool's suggestion kind of violates the characters basic motivations, though that has happened before with Carnage. The ending to this issue was a big surprise.

DC's TEEN TITANS Annual #3
Well this is the official end of this run of the Titans. The last issue suffered from many of the problems the entire book did. The focus is at once too wide and too narrow. There is too much to do and yet the entire reason for the team's existence was one particular villain. It just doesn't work for me. There was little sense of a larger mission. Yet at the same time the Titans were set up to face an enemy they literally could not defeat. The pacing was also off. A sad end to a book that took a great group a crappy direction.
