Off-Topic: Comic Book Reviews Part 2

DC's JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #10
It seems that the pages of JLA have been dedicated to developing two key characters for the last couple of issues, Martian Manhunter and Stars and Stripes Girl. Here we get an in-depth background look at how the New 52 version of S.S.G. got her powers and what that did to her life. The main Justice League book has been looking more at the Crime Syndicate members' backgrounds. I have to say that between the two, the latter has been more interesting. Still, this is a decent comic and was worth the read.

Dynamite's ARMY OF DARKNESS VS HACK/SLASH #4
Things get pretty hot and heavy between Ash and Hack/Slash in this issue, and that makes for some great comic relief, which is after all what these comics do best. The main story isn't anything to cheer about, but the interaction between the two main characters and the dialogue makes up the difference. I'm still enjoying the Dynamite brand.

DC's SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN #3
Well the 'book of the week' award goes to Superman/Woman. There is some great dialogue here, especially between Superman and Batman. Zod makes his first modern-day appearance in the New 52 universe and it is quite the entrance. This is a great reprieve from the whole 'DC universe will never be the same' trope that has dominated DC as of late. Straightforward and simple, this is a good comic that was fun to read. I'm loving this book so far.
