Well, this book knocked my sox off. After the first issue, I had high expectation and they were not disappointed. Some of nerd culture's darkest Archie theories are explored in this issue. And I mean DARKEST. This is terrifying horror and high action. I loved it when Archie took charge of the gang. This was just great.

Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #9
This is an INFINITY crossover. The GUARDIANS help shut down a defense shield taken over by Thanos' forces so the Avengers can save the day (with a little help from Star Lord). When all seems lost, the recently- discovered Angelic being from another universe comes in and does some serious damage to the bad guys. The dialogue continues to be the highlight of this book, and nine issues in I'm still interested in the relationships that stand at the center of the comic. In this day and age that is a big deal.

DC's EARTH 2 #18
Man, this book is getting depressing. I mean, the writing is top notch, but this is too much punishment to these characters too early. We needed more character development first. This feels like an issue 50 storyline. And where the hell is Alan Scott. DC has had a knack recently for bringing good characters into a team story and then completely ignoring them. Still, you can't fault the nuts and bolts of the overall project.
